Dr. Frank Gilliam Jr, MD, is a board certified Neurologist at UT Health RGV. With over 21 years of advanced medical experience, Dr. Gilliam uses the latest technology and medical advancements in neurology to provide patients in the RGV with the highest level of care.
Dr. Gilliam graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Haverford College in 1983 and received his Medical Degree (M.D.) from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1987. He then completed his Residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 1991. Additionally, he completed his Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital Harvard Medical School in 1992.
As a Neurology Specialist at UT Health RGV, Dr. Gilliam diagnoses and provides services and treatments for epilepsy and seizures, Outpatient Evaluations and Management, Electroencephalography (EEG), and Presurgical evaluations for pharmacoresistant focal epilepsy. Dr. Frank Gilliam is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology with a specialization in child epilepsy.
Additionally, Dr. Gilliam is a member of several notable organizations such as the American Academy of Neurology, American Neurological Association, American Epilepsy Society, American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, Southern Epilepsy and EEG Society, and the American Society of Neuroimaging.
Dr. Gilliam joined the UTRGV School of Medicine Faculty in September 2020 and currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Neurology, educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
