Dr. Veronica Salazar is a board certified Family Medicine Doctor at UT Health RGV. With a focus on providing advanced medical care to patients, Dr. Salazar understands the importance of using the latest advancements in family medicine to improve the quality of patient care for children and adults in the RGV.
As an Adult Primary Care/Family Medicine physician at UT Health RGV, Dr. Salazar offers treatments in family medicine for children and adults, preventive care, health screenings, immunizations, chronic care (diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, arthritis), men’s health, women’s health, and more. Dr. Salazar provides a personalized patient care plan along with a variety of resources to ensure patients can make the most educated choice about their health care. Dr. Salazar is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and provides advanced patient care for all age groups with the latest medical technology and treatment.
In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Salazar is a member of notable organizations such as the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Salazar was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. In 2008, she graduated with honors from The University of Texas-Pan American, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Premed-Biology and a minor in Chemistry and English Literature. Dr. Salazar received her Medical Degree from The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara Facultad de Medicina in 2013 and completed her Family Medicine Residency training at the Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in 2018 with The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. During her final year of residency, she became a Chief Resident and was part of the first-ever graduating class of the UTRGV DHR Family Medicine Program.
Dr. Veronica Salazar is currently an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at the UTRGV School of Medicine, educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
