As an Adult Primary Care/Family Medicine physician at UT Health RGV, Dr. Munoz-Monaco offers diagnostic and treatment for children and adults, preventive care, health screenings, immunizations, chronic care (diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, arthritis), men’s health, women’s health, and more. Dr. Munoz-Monaco provides a personalized patient care plan along with a variety of resources to ensure patients can make the most educated choice about their health care. Dr. Munoz-Monaco received his Medical Degree (MD) from Universidad de Carabobo Faculty of Health Sciences in 2004 and completed his Family Medicine Residency training at Indiana University School of Medicine - Methodist Hospital in 2013. After completion of his residency training, he continued his medical education and completed his Faculty Development Fellowship at The University of North Texas Health Science Center.
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Munoz-Monaco is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine, National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA), and a member of the NHMA Board Development Committee.
Dr. Gerardo Munoz-Monaco joined the UTRGV School of Medicine Faculty in 2017 and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine, and is the Chief of Family Medicine of the Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
