Dr. Kristan Diaz-Rios is a Board Certified Family Medicine Doctor at UT Health RGV. She completed her Bachelor of Arts from Brown University in 2002. She received her Medical Degree (M.D) from Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 2007. She then went on to complete her Family Medicine Residency in 2010 followed by an Obstetrics fellowship in 2011 with the CHRISTUS Spohn Family Medicine Residency Program in Corpus Christi, TX.
Dr. Diaz-Rios is Board Certified by The American Board of Family Medicine. In addition, she is a member of several professional societies, including American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association and Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors.
Dr. Diaz-Rios diagnoses and provides advanced medical treatment in family medicine, obstetrics, pregnancy care, pediatric and adolescent medicine, adult and geriatric full-spectrum care, preventative care, acute illness, chronic conditions, and more.
Dr. Kristan Diaz-Rios joined The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine Faculty in 2017 and currently serves as the Program Director for the DHR-Family Medicine Residency Progam and as an Assistant Professor with UTRGV.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Diaz-Rios enjoys golfing, running, traveling to the beach, sporting events with her family.
