Biography

Dr. Alberto Allegre is a board-certified Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician at UT Health RGV, dedicated to providing specialized care for children across the Rio Grande Valley. He is now accepting patients at the UT Health RGV Women and Children's Clinic in Edinburg, TX.

As a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician, Dr. Allegre offers treatments for children with developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning problems, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), sleep disorders, and more. Dr. Allegre provides a personalized patient care plan along with a variety of resources to ensure parents can make the most educated choice about their child's health care. 

Dr. Alberto Allegre earned his medical degree from Tec de Monterrey School of Medicine in Monterrey, Mexico, in 2010. He completed his pediatrics residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in 2015 and pursued a fellowship in developmental and behavioral pediatrics at the University of Arkansas/Arkansas Children’s Hospital, finishing in 2018. He earned his board certification from The American Board of Pediatrics.

In 2018, Dr. Allegre also joined the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine faculty. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
