Dr. Carolina Gomez de Ziegler, MD is a Family Medicine Physician at UT Health RGV. With over 20 years of advanced medical experience, Dr. Ziegler uses the latest technology and medical advancements in family medicine to provide communities in the RGV with the highest level of care.
Dr. Gomez de Ziegler graduated with a Medical Degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2001 and completed her Pathology Residency at the Instituto de Anatomia Patologica in 2005 and her Family Medicine Residency at the Knapp Medical Center in 2017. Additionally, she participated as an intern at the Miguel Perez Carreno Hospital in 2000.
As a Family Medicine Physician at UT Health RGV, Dr. Gomez de Ziegler diagnoses and provides medical treatment in acute illness care, sports medicine and musculoskeletal care, diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, arthritis, men’s and women’s health, adult and geriatric medicine, gynecology services, menopausal counseling and provides additional diagnostic services such as physical examinations, health screenings, and immunizations and many more.
Additionally, Dr. Gomez de Ziegler is a member of several notable organizations such as the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (an accreditation, not a society), and the Venezuelan Society Pathology.
Dr. Gomez de Ziegler also serves as an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at the UTRGV School of Medicine, educating and training the next generation of leaders in health care.
