Biography

Dr. Fatimah Bello, MD, is a board certified Internal Medicine Physician at UT Health RGV. With advanced medical experience and training, Dr. Bello uses the latest technology and medical advancements in internal medicine to provide communities in the RGV with the highest level of care.

Dr. Bello received her Medical Degree (M.D.) from Obafemi Awolowo University in 2009 and then completed her Residency at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2020. She participated as an intern at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in 2010. Additionally, Dr. Bello received her Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) Degree from Harvard University in 2013.

As an Internal Medicine Physician at UT Health RGV, Dr. Bello diagnoses and provides services and treatments for preventative care, acute illness care, diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, arthritis, men’s and women’s health, adult and geriatric medicine, gynecology services, menopausal counseling, and provides additional diagnostic services such as physical examinations, health screenings, immunizations and more. Dr. Fatimah Bello is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Additionally, Dr. Bello is a member of several notable organizations such as the American College of Physicians, the Society of Hospital medicine, the Texas Medical Association, and the Nigerian Medical Association.

Dr. Bello currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the UTRGV School of Medicine, educating and training the next generation of physicians.
