Biography

Dr. Frank Gerold is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon at UT Health RGV who specializes in upper extremity treatment and surgery.

Dr. Gerold earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, NY (now part of the Mount Sinai Health System), and he completed his hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL.

As an Orthopedic Surgeon at UT Health RGV, Dr. Gerold specializes in a variety of upper extremity conditions, including carpal tunnel, finger injuries, nerve injuries, orthopedic trauma surgery, pediatric hand surgery, rotator cuff repair, shoulder arthroscopy, and more.

Dr. Gerold also serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the UTRGV School of Medicine, educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
