Dr. Jennifer Sander Walt is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a subspecialty in Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the UTRGV School of Medicine, where she also contributes to clinical teaching for orthopedic trainees. Dr. Walt completed her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University, earned her MD from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston (McGovern Medical School), completed her orthopedic surgery residency at LSU Health Science Center Shreveport, and finished an orthopedic foot and ankle fellowship at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Walt’s scholarly work spans peer-reviewed research, quality improvement initiatives, and academic education resources. Her publications include outcomes, research, and diagnostic studies related to foot and ankle pathology. She has also contributed to clinical presentations and departmental and community engagement through professional organizations and teaching activities.
Clinically, Dr. Walt provides care for patients with foot and ankle disorders across a range of conditions, combining surgical expertise with a patient-centered approach. She maintains active involvement in professional societies, including the AOFAS (American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society) and the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
