Biography

Dr. Maria Villegas is a board-certified Dermatologist at UT Health RGV with over a decade of experience providing advanced skin, hair, and nail care to patients of all ages. 

As a Dermatologist, Dr. Villegas specializes in medical and cosmetic dermatology, cutaneous surgery, and dermatopathology. She offers a wide range of procedures, including comprehensive skin exams, skin biopsies, cryotherapy, skin cancer surgery, electrodessication and curettage, nail biopsies, intralesional injections, patch testing, and Botox® treatments. Additional services include the removal of skin tags, cysts, seborrheic keratoses, and other common skin growths.

Dr. Villegas received her medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA) in 2007 and completed her dermatology residency at UTHSCSA in 2011. She is certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

At the UTRGV School of Medicine, Dr. Villegas is also an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
