Biography

Dr. Stephanie Campbell is a board-certified Doctor of Podiatric Medicine / Foot and Ankle Surgeon at UT Health RGV.

She attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She then earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Podiatric Medicine in California. She served as a delegate for her class under the American Podiatric Medical Student Association, additionally serving as Liaison to the College of Podiatric Medical Education. 

Dr. Campbell completed her residency training at one of the top residency programs in the country at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She completed her first post-graduate fellowship in foot, ankle, and leg reconstructive surgery in Southern New Mexico with a focus on rearfoot surgery, total ankle replacement, trauma, reconstructive surgery, and indigenous population medicine. She spent time training both orthopedic and podiatric residents. She also served as Scientific Chair for the American Foundation of Lower Extremity Surgery & Research. She completed a second fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, focusing on limb amputation prevention and diabetic limb salvage. 

Dr. Campbell is a surgical textbook author and has served as an editor for multiple peer-reviewed journals. She is currently working on research related to lower extremity amputations, difficult nonhealing wounds, wound grafting, and nerve surgery. 

She is also a member of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and the Texas Podiatric Medical Association.
